Directed by Carly USDIN
A simple lunch amongst friends dissolves into a fiasco when new couple, Jasmine and Penn discover an anonymous suicide note in the home of Billie and Jordan, the happiest married couple they know. This sharp-tongued, mostly improvised dark comedy tackles some pretty hefty topics, but in a manner that is both tender and uniquely hilarious. Icing on the cake – an all-female cast and crew that includes BRITTANI NICHOLS (TRANSPARENT) and JASIKA NICOLE (FRINGE).Cherry on top – screening followed by Q&A with Writer/Producer/Actor, BRITTANI NICHOLS.

BRITTANI NICHOLS // You’ve probably encountered her writing on the internet (Autostraddle, Jezebel, Huffington Post, Elixher, Buzzfeed), or maybe you haven’t – I don’t know what websites you like to frequent. Perhaps you’ve seen Brittani on Amazon’s Emmy-nominated hit, TRANSPARENT, or maybe you haven’t – again, I don’t know to which streaming services you subscribe. Possibly you’ve listened to the podcasts she hosts: Brand New Podcast and Hamilton the Podcast, or maybe you haven’t – clearly, I don’t know anything about you.
But I do know Brittani’s award-winning first feature film, SUICIDE KALE, has been tearing up the festival circuit. I also know Brittani avows many fake accolades, such as “Best Twitter Feed to Never Be on a List of the Best Twitter Feeds” – you should peruse said Twitter feed (@BisHilarious) to get a taste of her unique brand of humor. And I know she wants you to know that she went to Yale, but she feels weird mentioning it. So make it a point to say hi to Brittani at the RCE, because she’s definitely someone you should get to know.
